I just read about Frances’ passing today in Opera News online. So young to be taken from this world. I’m sure God must have plans for her in the next. I considered her a good friend when I was in the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Young Artists Program many years ago. We had good, deep and funny talks walking in the city or by the shore of Lake Michigan. We lost touch when I exited the professional singing world in the mid-80s, but I kept seeing notices of her burgeoning career. I am so sad to hear that she is gone but very glad to have known her for a brief moment in time. Tanti auguri cara Francesca! Ci vedremo ancora! Ron

  2. Marco and Gabriella (Milan, Italy) says:

We went round Frances briefly the last period of his stay in Milan but we soon entered into our hearts and our souls with her sensitivity, kindness and humanity. Her company gave joy and happiness to all. Her face lit up with joy and love. She was just an angel and we are grateful to God to have met you even for a short time. Now rest in peace sweet Frances. You will be forever in our hearts and our memories. Addio Frances. Resterai per sempre con noi e la tua voce melodiosa risuonerà senza fine. All our love for ever. Marco and Gabriella

Francis Helen and I have been friends since we were young girls. We sang, played, shared our stories, ate, danced and many more things that girlfriends do through high school graduation and longer. I have and will always carry my dear friend in my heart. The sparkle of joy that she shared with anybody! What a beautiful spirit. I miss my very special Fran. I applaud her for her tenacity, for her cheerful hope and for her personal sharing with the people she loved during these past few years. I loved Fran, for so many things. I ask all of you who knew and loved her…..to live your life with her beautiful spirit guiding us to live and love. Robin
