Dearest Frannie,
It is so difficult to believe that you are not physically present. I think of you so often and treasure our very special bond. Even across the miles, you would think of me and call and share what was going on in your life. Always reaching out....always connecting. You are truly unique, dear Frannie.......One of a kind and Unforgettable. You will always be alive in my heart....
love,
Linda

Dear Family and Friends of Frances, it's true! It's hard to believe that it already a year that Frances left us. My wife is witness that each time I talk about Frances the tears flow down my face. If we think about her our thoughts become positive. She has been (and is again) a absolute example of joy, friendship and positivity towards life. We love you Frances. We know that you look us and protect us from up there in the heaven, among the clouds or , everyday. Thank you Frances. We will never forget you and we know that now you rest in peace in a very pure light. Ciao dolcissima amica nostra. Marco e Gabriella Airoldi

Dear Aunt Fran,

You were in our lives before your larger than life career, and to these memories I hold dear. In Chicago, you spent so many visits with our family, my mom (your cousin) adored you, and my brother and I always felt so loved with your embraces and enthusiastic attention to our lives. You called me Elizabeth Anna in your dramatic way, and would sing for me "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" because I loved the Wizard of Oz. Your laugh and your love will always be with me and I know your beautiful spirit is at peace.

Love your cousin,
Liz

Dear Frances, we miss you. We often think to you. In this world it's so hard find a women like you is very very difficult. A women so..so....we don't find appropriate adjectives.
But now you're in the sky among the Angels. But you're an Angel. Forever. An Angel lent for a short time to us humans. And we're very happy to have met you but we know we are not losing you. You're always between us. We love you, sweet Angel.
Kisses.

I am so sadded by the news of France's passing. She was a beautiful, vivacous, superior, artist. I met Frances when she came to Cincinnati Opera to perform. I was assigned to her and became her personal "body guard". I never left her side always driving her, protecting her and listening to her fantastic voice. She was a breath of fresh air, and we knew what each other was thinking. I'm truly sorry that I did not keep up with her when she left and departed to Italy. She was my friend. Now she is a angel in God's heavenly Opera stage. Bravo Frances, Bravo. Nick

Happy Birthday to our beloved Aunt Frannie!

We miss you dearly, but rest assured we'll be celebrating your life today, for your birthday, [and everyday!]. In honor of you, we'll be smiling from ear to ear - flashing our pearly whites, and singing to our hearts' content. Thank you for teaching us how to live, Frannie. We love you!

I learned only today, on the day of your birthday, that you flew in the sky. In 2008, i knew when you were in hospital in Milan, you were close to my mom's bed. I was pregnant with my Leonardo: I had the time of pregnancy on 11/03 and you were hoping I gave birth to my little angel on the very day of your birthday. You said that the arrival of Leo was like the arrival of an angel who would help you and Grandmother Letizia out of the disease. I was fascinated by your exuberance and love you put into everything. In recent months, I tried to contact you over and over again on your phone, but without any success. In any case, on 11 March each year, I send you my best wishes for a happy birthday and continue to do so .... I am very pleased to have been so good to know a person like you. Now you're up there in heaven with your angel ..... With so much love, Rose and Leonardo
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My Dear....
So very proud of you. Went to school from Central Grade School and all through High School, until my leaving for Private.

You were always adorable, sweet, kind and talented. You went through so darn much, experienced so much and apparently lived so much. From all of us, we say goodbye for now.

I made my NYCO debut with Frances in 1987, and sang many times with her in our careers. She was a terrific singer and a dear, generous colleague. I will remember her spirit, her drive, her love of life and the art to which she devoted herself completely. I loved her heart. Mine is very sad today, knowing she is no longer with us.

Rest in peace dear Fran. I know you and Chris are on the other side making lots of music and laughter. I knew Fran from the University of Kansas and also lived 3 blocks from her in NYC! We sang in Falstaff and Cosi fan tutte together at the U of Kansas and had so much fun. She is a special part of my history and my prayers and heart go out to her family and friends. Now PEACE is yours my friend. God bless you and many thanks for your spirit.

I was greatly saddened to hear that Frances lost her battle with cancer. I knew Frances from Chicago during her time at Lyric Opera. I also had the pleasure of seeing her debut at the New York City Opera. I will always remember Frances, not only for her magnificent voice, but for her ready smile, sparkling personality, and ever present optimism. The world lost a wonderful person but the angels gained a new heavenly voice.

I remember Frances as a wonderful colleague at a very difficult time for me. She could have taken advantage of my situation but, instead, was helpful and helped me see the humor in the situation. She was not only a very good artist--she was a very good human being and will be sorely missed. Christine Weidinger

I just read about Frances' passing today in Opera News online. So young to be taken from this world. I'm sure God must have plans for her in the next. I considered her a good friend when I was in the Lyric Opera of Chicago's Young Artists Program many years ago. We had good, deep and funny talks walking in the city or by the shore of Lake Michigan. We lost touch when I exited the professional singing world in the mid-80s, but I kept seeing notices of her burgeoning career. I am so sad to hear that she is gone but very glad to have known her for a brief moment in time. Tanti auguri cara Francesca! Ci vedremo ancora! Ron

I was saddened to hear of Frances' passing. I attended high school with Frannie where I had the opportunity to hear her beautiful voice in the early years. Many years later, while Stage Managing at Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, it was serendipity that I overheard our Artistic Director say that he was directing La Traviata at the Connecticut Opera and that Frances Ginsberg would be having a costume fitting in our costume shop. I had a wonderful reunion as we relived our times together at Ladue High School where she performed in Camelot and Mame. Great fun and great memories. Her talent was present in her early years and grew to be extraordinary. I am sorry to hear of her passing but will forever hear her music in my heart.
